Salary to Hourly Calculator
Convert an annual salary into an estimated hourly rate using your real weekly hours and working weeks. The formula is shown so you can check the assumptions.
Formula
Hourly rate = Annual salary ÷ (Hours per week × Working weeks per year).
Best for
Comparing a salaried role with hourly work, part-time schedules, or freelance equivalents.
Not included
Taxes, bonuses, overtime, benefits, paid leave and other compensation are not included.
How the Salary to Hourly Calculator Works
The calculator divides annual salary by the total number of working hours you enter for the year. Total working hours are weekly hours multiplied by working weeks.
Example
A 60,000 annual salary with a 40-hour week across 52 working weeks equals about 28.85 per hour before taxes and deductions.

FAQ
Does this include taxes?
No. This is a gross-pay estimate before taxes, benefits, bonuses, overtime and deductions.
What if I take unpaid time off?
Reduce the working weeks per year to reflect the time you actually expect to work.
Should I use 52 weeks if I receive paid vacation?
If your annual salary remains unchanged during paid vacation, 52 weeks is usually appropriate for a simple hourly equivalent. If your goal is to estimate only hours physically worked, use the working-weeks figure that best matches your comparison.
