FREE PAY CALCULATOR
Pay Raise Calculator
Compare your current and new salary to see the percentage change, annual difference and approximate monthly difference.
Formula
Raise % = (New salary − Current salary) ÷ Current salary × 100.
Best for
Reviewing a raise, promotion, counteroffer or new job offer.
Not included
Taxes, bonuses, stock, overtime, benefits and changes in working hours are not included.
How the Pay Raise Calculator Works
The calculator subtracts your current salary from your new salary, then divides that difference by your current salary to estimate the percentage change.
Example
Moving from 50,000 to 55,000 is a 5,000 annual increase, equal to a 10% raise and about 416.67 more gross pay per month.
What this calculator does not tell you
A larger salary does not automatically mean a better total compensation package. Compare bonuses, equity, benefits, working hours, location costs and other conditions when they matter.
FAQ
Can the calculator show a pay cut?
Yes. If the new salary is lower than the current salary, the percentage and money difference will be negative.
Is the monthly difference take-home pay?
No. The monthly figure is the annual gross difference divided by 12. Taxes and deductions are not estimated.
Can I compare two job offers?
You can compare the salary difference here, but the Job Offer Comparison Calculator is better for evaluating salary, bonus, working hours, paid vacation and commute costs together.
Want to see what your new annual salary is worth per hour? Use the Salary to Hourly Calculator. Comparing two offers with different hours or commutes? Use the Job Offer Comparison Calculator. For hourly roles where overtime changes weekly gross pay, use the Overtime Pay Calculator.
