Regular pay$800.00
Overtime pay$150.00
Total hours45.00
Effective hourly rate$21.11/hr

Formula

Best for

Estimating weekly gross pay when you already know your regular rate, overtime hours, and applicable multiplier.

Not included

Taxes, deductions, bonuses, shift differentials, daily overtime rules, and legal overtime eligibility are not determined here.

How the Overtime Pay Calculator Works

The calculator multiplies your regular hourly rate by regular hours, then calculates overtime hours at the multiplier you enter. It adds both amounts to estimate weekly gross pay before taxes and deductions.

Example

At a regular rate of $20 per hour, 40 regular hours produce $800 in regular pay. Five overtime hours at 1.5× produce $150 in overtime pay, for an estimated weekly gross total of $950.

When this calculator is useful

Use it to estimate the impact of extra hours on weekly gross pay, compare schedules, or sanity-check a paycheck estimate when the overtime rate is already known.

What this calculator does not tell you

This tool does not determine whether you are legally entitled to overtime or what multiplier applies. Overtime rules vary by country, state or province, occupation, contract, and sometimes by daily versus weekly hours.

FAQ

What does 1.5× overtime mean?

It means each overtime hour is paid at one and a half times your regular hourly rate.

Can I calculate double time?

Yes. Enter 2.0 as the overtime multiplier.

Is this take-home pay?

No. The result is a gross-pay estimate before taxes, benefits, deductions, or other payroll adjustments.
